In 2020 he made history as the first Black photographer to photograph a cover for Vanity Fair with his portrait of Oscar-winning actress, Viola Davis. Sitting at the nexus of art, fashion, and academia, Dario received his Masters in Fine Arts degree in photography from the School of Visual Arts and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rockhurst University. She is a member of Kamoinge, a pioneering collective of African American photographers founded in 1963 and is a co-author of the book MFON: Women Photographers of the African Diaspora She has exhibited nationally and internationally. A frequent contributor to The New York Times, her work has also appeared in Le Monde, National Geographic, Vogue, Vanity Fair, and The Wall Street Journal. These presets were created by Laylah Amatullah Barrayn, a documentary photographer with 20 years of experience.
